Building a Resort with 10 Lakhs

Is it possible to construct a resort within a shoestring budget of Rs.10 lakhs [1 million]? Nowadays, if you to buy a single bedroom apartment of square feet 400, you need to invest more than 10 lakhs. In this scenario, building a resort within a shoestring budget of 10 lakhs nearly throws you off your seat after reading this idea, right?

This blog believes it is possible! For building a resort, you need at least 1 acre land. And this 1 acre should be in such a place and weather where people want to flock without much advertising.  Gone are those days where people used to go to the same place year after year. These days are the days of backpackers. They like to explore new places, visit uninhabited places, take risks, and make sure that they do all these things, alone!

Now, this opportunity gives you a location advantage. How? Just do some in-depth research and find out a few unexplored areas which satisfies weather and scenic conditions but whose potential you feel is till untapped. Definitely, land in these areas gets sold for cheap. Reason: this area is still unknown to the world. Once you get the required land at cheap price [say, an acre in 2 lakhs], now, the task of constructing a building starts. This building is for your clients' stay. But, why to build a building in a regular manner and bore your visitors! Why not give them something they don't expect; in this case, a suite with all the amenities that you can provide in that remote area!

Yes, you read it right! A suite! But what about the cost? The cost can be resolved if you opt for building your resort with nontraditional construction materials. Nowadays, there is lot of research going on in the name of providing houses for poor and underprivileged. Why not use those techniques to build your own resort? Anyway, you are not constructing something that lasts for 100 years. It is scientifically proven that the nontraditional construction materials are a lot more better when compared with traditional construction materials in terms of strength, heat absorption, weight, etc. Besides, they prove light on your pocket also.

Why not go for a prefabricated house which does not cost more than 1 lakh but covers 200 sq ft and looks like a normal house, where you can provide all the amenities just like how you do that  in your traditional setup? Besides, your visitors feel that you are offering them suite with all those mind boggling amenities that they could never lay their hands at the price that they are ready to pay to stay in that area! Even if you construct 20 small suites that cover 200 sq ft each with Wi-Fi facility, you are still left with lot of vacant land, which you can use it for recreational purposes. For example, you can dig a swimming pool, a boating lake, an artificial trekking site, etc.

On top of all these, if you throw in a branded coffee house which entices your visitors with all that glitters, you prove yourself as a real genius. Nowadays, tourists are looking for different kinds of experiences. In a country like India, there is 100 percent chance that your visitors might have never stayed in a prefabricated house or a wooden house, or a tree house. And as a resort builder, providing all these construction variations do not cost much.

Then why are you hesitating? What is stopping you?
